EAST STROUDSBURG — Stroud Area Regional Police are searching for Donovan Stephen Mack, 36, who is wanted for punching a woman in the face after she tried to intervene during a disturbance at a Lincoln Avenue restaurant. Mack faces charges of simple assault and harassment by physical contact following the October 8 incident that left a good Samaritan with facial injuries and bleeding from the mouth, requiring hospital transport.
According to police reports, officers were dispatched to the Burger King at 290 Lincoln Avenue around 6:07 p.m. after receiving reports of an assault. The restaurant supervisor told police that Mack was causing a disturbance and yelling at a female when another woman attempted to intervene. Police say Mack jumped over a railing and punched the intervening woman directly in the face before fleeing the scene. A second dispatch was received moments later from the nearby Giant Supermarket, where the injured victim had gone seeking help.
Mack has an active arrest warrant issued November 18 by Magisterial District Judge Wolbert, along with an outstanding bench warrant for failure to appear on separate theft by deception charges. Court records indicate a pattern of avoiding the legal system, making public assistance crucial in locating him. The 36-year-old suspect was last known to be in the East Stroudsburg area and may still be in Monroe County.
