STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY — An East Stroudsburg woman who avoided a DUI conviction through a first-offender diversion program in 2019 is now wanted on a bench warrant after failing to appear for her second drunk driving case.
Maxxan Carl Pryce Simon, 27, faces charges of DUI at the highest rate of alcohol, DUI general impairment, duties at a stop sign, and careless driving stemming from a September 19 traffic stop in Hamilton Township.

Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Corey J. Gilroy arrested Simon after she allegedly ran a stop sign. Her blood alcohol content registered at .16 or higher—double the legal limit of .08 and the same tier as her 2019 arrest.
Simon was not present when Magisterial District Judge Paul J. Gasper held her preliminary hearing on December 10. All charges were held for Monroe County Court of Common Pleas. Court records now show an active bench warrant.
The new case arrived at Common Pleas on December 11. No attorney is listed for Simon, and the matter is awaiting the filing of a criminal information.
Prior DUI and Diversion
Simon’s first DUI arrest came June 9, 2019, in Pocono Township. Trooper James P. Poliskiewicz Jr. stopped her for multiple violations including disregarding a traffic lane, following too closely, running a stop sign, and careless driving. Her BAC again exceeded .16.
Rather than face trial, Simon was admitted to the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program on November 20, 2019. Senior Judge Margherita P. Worthington imposed six months of supervision, a 60-day license suspension, completion of the Alcohol Highway Safety Program, a comprehensive drug and alcohol assessment, and payment of more than $1,100 in costs and fees.
The DA’s office filed a petition to revoke Simon’s ARD status in May 2020, alleging violations. After a continuance, Judge Jonathan Mark dismissed the petition in April 2021 after Simon satisfied the program’s requirements.
ARD is a one-time diversion available to first-time offenders that allows charges to be dismissed and records expunged upon successful completion. Defendants who receive ARD and later face new DUI charges are prosecuted as repeat offenders and are ineligible for the program a second time.
Additional Traffic Violations
Between her two DUI cases, Simon accumulated additional traffic convictions: operating a vehicle with suspended registration and without required financial responsibility in August 2023, a hazard regulation violation in February 2024, and failure to carry a license in April 2025.
Simon is described as a Black female, 5-foot-4, with brown hair and brown eyes, born February 18, 1998.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts should contact Pennsylvania State Police at Stroudsburg or Monroe County authorities.
The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
