GOULDSBORO — A 66-year-old Wayne County man is scheduled to plead guilty Thursday to felony drug charges after police found marijuana plants growing in plain view inside a greenhouse at his Gouldsboro residence.

Robert Gerard Krzan was arrested October 27 after Lehigh Township police responded to a domestic disturbance call and discovered an active marijuana cultivation operation at his home. Court records show he waived his preliminary hearing last month and is now set to enter a guilty plea December 11 at 1:00 p.m. in Wayne County Court of Common Pleas before President Judge Janine Edwards.

Krzan faces three felony counts of manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, along with misdemeanor charges for intentional possession of a controlled substance by an unregistered person, marijuana possession, and drug paraphernalia.

Marijuana Plant in Plain View

According to the criminal complaint filed by Lehigh Township Police Officer Destiny M. Frisbie, officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a Gouldsboro residence on October 27.

Upon arriving at the property, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana and observed a marijuana plant growing in plain view inside a greenhouse on the premises.

Police obtained a search warrant for the residence. During the search, officers discovered multiple marijuana plants and related substances throughout the home.

Krzan arrived on scene during the search and identified himself as the property owner. He admitted the marijuana belonged to him.

Released on $1,000 Bail

Krzan was arraigned November 4 before Magisterial District Judge Bonnie L. Carney, who set bail at $1,000 unsecured. He posted bail the same day.

He waived his formal arraignment and preliminary hearing on November 21, and the case was bound over to the Court of Common Pleas. Judge Edwards signed an order scheduling the guilty plea on December 2.

Krzan is represented by Honesdale attorney Woodrow Augustus Martin.

The Wayne County District Attorney’s Office is prosecuting the case.
