TANNERSVILLE, PA — A Newark, New Jersey woman is wanted on felony theft charges after police say she and an accomplice stole more than $3,200 worth of merchandise from multiple stores at Pocono Premium Outlets in January.

Iralda Mercedes Gil Rodriguez, 52, faces two counts of third-degree felony retail theft and two counts of receiving stolen property. An active arrest warrant has been issued by Magisterial District Judge Daniel Kresge.

Defendant Description

Gil Rodriguez is described as a Hispanic female, 5 feet 1 inch tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Her last known address is in Newark, New Jersey.

The Incident

According to Pocono Township Police, officers responded to the outlet mall at 1000 Premium Outlets Drive on January 26, 2025, at approximately 3:56 p.m. for a reported retail theft in progress.

Dispatchers provided responding officers with descriptions of two suspects who had been stealing from multiple stores and were loading merchandise into a red Toyota Camry bearing New Jersey plates.

Officers located the vehicle as it attempted to leave the parking lot and made contact with both occupants. The investigation revealed the pair had stolen more than $3,200 worth of merchandise from multiple retailers at the outlet center.

Police identified the suspects as Gil Rodriguez and William Diaz, also of New Jersey. Arrest warrants were issued for both individuals on January 29.

Second Case Filed

Court records show Gil Rodriguez faces charges in a second Monroe County related case stemming from an offense that occurred two days earlier on January 24, 2025. That case, filed on March 11, carries identical charges of felony retail theft and receiving stolen property.

Both cases remain inactive in Monroe County’s magisterial district court system, awaiting preliminary hearings that cannot proceed until the defendant is apprehended.

The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
