Monroe County residents should check their tickets as jackpot becomes seventh-largest in Powerball history
STROUDSBURG — The Powerball jackpot has soared to an estimated $930 million after no ticket matched all six numbers in Monday night’s drawing, giving Pocono Mountains residents another shot at the massive prize when the next drawing takes place Wednesday, Dec. 10.
Monday’s winning Powerball numbers were 8-32-52-56-64 with Powerball 23 and Power Play 2X. The Double Play numbers were 22-26-54-64-65 with Powerball 1.
The jackpot has been rolling since Sept. 6, when two tickets — one in Missouri and another in Texas — split a $1.787 billion prize, the second-largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history. Monday’s drawing was the 40th in the current jackpot run.
Pennsylvania Lottery tickets can be purchased at retailers throughout Monroe County, including locations in Stroudsburg, East Stroudsburg, Tannersville, Mount Pocono, Tobyhanna and Pocono Summit. The deadline to purchase Powerball tickets in Pennsylvania is 9:59 p.m. on drawing nights.
