Missing Persons
This outlet tracks missing-persons cases across the region, from active searches to cases that have gone unsolved for years. Police are still searching for a missing Stroudsburg man, and a Wayne County teen who vanished at 14 has now been missing for nearly eight years.
Some of the region’s cases stretch back decades. Richard Redzich vanished from Honesdale in 2005, his car found stuck in the woods three months later with no trace of him ever found. In Stroudsburg, Edward Maps disappeared in 1962 after his wife and infant daughter were murdered and their home set on fire — he spent nearly five years on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list and was never located. And in East Stroudsburg, Hee Chol Kim walked away from his home for an afternoon walk in 2013 and never returned, despite a community search involving crews from three states.
Not every case gets the same attention. Rashan Francis’s family says Scranton Police have effectively stopped working his case since his panicked final phone call in 2018 — and they believe race is part of why.
