Elijah Aldinger, 27, skipped court, can’t be located — and has an eight-year-old Northampton County case still pending
STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY— A Stroudsburg man facing drunk driving charges has a bench warrant out for his arrest after skipping court and vanishing — two months after pleading guilty to public drunkenness in the same courthouse.
Elijah Jacob Aldinger, 27, was arrested March 9, 2025 in Stroudsburg Borough by Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Jesse A. Strausberger. He was charged with two counts of DUI — general impairment and a blood alcohol content between .08 and .10 — plus running a stop sign and careless driving.
His preliminary hearing was held November 13, 2025 before Magisterial District Judge Kristina Anzini. Aldinger didn’t show. All charges were held for Monroe County Court of Common Pleas.
Monroe County Assistant DA Michael Mancuso filed the formal information on November 25. Nine days later, court mail came back undeliverable. The case now lists an active bench warrant.
Defendant:
- Elijah Jacob Aldinger, 27, of Stroudsburg.
- DOB: September 30, 1997.
- Description: White male, brown hair, hazel eyes.
Guilty Plea for Drunkenness — Then Gone
Two months before his DUI case hit Common Pleas, Aldinger stood before Judge Anzini on a separate charge: public drunkenness. He pled guilty on September 12, 2025.
The conviction means Aldinger was already entangled in alcohol-related legal trouble when his drunk driving charges moved forward. He resolved one case, then disappeared on the other.
Three Traffic Violations in Late 2024
The DUI wasn’t Aldinger’s introduction to Pennsylvania traffic law. On December 9, 2024 — three months before Trooper Strausberger pulled him over — Aldinger pled guilty to three violations before Magisterial District Judge Stephen M. Higgins: disobeying a traffic control device, driving without a seatbelt, and violating hazard regulations.
All three resolved the same day.
An Eight-Year-Old Northampton County Case
Court records show one more entry: a Northampton County case filed in 2017 that remains open.
