STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY — Stroud Mall was shot up again Sunday night—the second time in three days.
Stroud Area Regional Police responded just before 8:30 p.m. December 15 for reports of gunfire at the Stroudsburg shopping center. Officers evacuated the building and found shell casings outside the main entrance. Bullets had punched through the glass doors, damaging both interior and exterior panels.
No injuries reported. No arrests. Shooter’s gone.
This came 48 hours after the first shooting Saturday night, December 13, around the same time. That incident also ended with no arrests and a suspect in the wind.
Saturday’s Shooting
Dispatchers sent units to 344 Stroud Mall Road around 8:30 p.m. Saturday for shots fired. Monroe County officials told media no one was hurt.
Scanner traffic said otherwise—dispatchers called for response to two patients, one with facial injuries.
Witnesses described chaos. Officers with rifles. Security turning people away. The Cinemark theater evacuated mid-screening. ShopRite customers rushed out. This was peak Christmas shopping, Saturday night, the mall packed.
SARPD released no suspect description. No vehicle. No details on what started it.
No Public Information
Police haven’t posted anything about either shooting on their Crimewatch page. The same page gets updated for retail thefts and parking lot fender-benders.
Two shootings at Monroe County’s largest mall in one weekend, and the public has been told almost nothing. No suspect description. No indication whether the incidents are connected. No explanation for the contradiction between “no injuries” and scanner reports of victims with facial wounds.
SARPD asks anyone with information to submit tips at monroe.crimewatchpa.com/sarpd.
