Magical meet-and-greet spots across the Poconos this December
The holiday season is here, and that means one thing for families across Monroe County—it’s time to visit Santa! Whether you’re looking for a classic mall photo, a unique farm experience, or a magical resort adventure, there’s a spot for every family in our beautiful corner of the Poconos.
Stroudsburg
Downtown Tree Lighting — Kick off the season at the annual tree lighting ceremony on Courthouse Square (November 28). The towering holiday tree and historic Main Street storefronts create a picture-perfect backdrop. Stick around to shop the charming boutiques and galleries before heading home.

Dansbury Depot Tree Lighting — Santa arrives in style on an East Stroudsburg Fire Department fire truck! Head to Crystal Street behind the historic Dansbury Depot on December 1 at 7 PM for tree lighting, photos with Santa inside the depot, free coloring books for kids, hot cocoa, and holiday crafts.
Stroudsburg Area (Quiet Valley)
Old Time Christmas at Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm — For something truly special, visit this 35th annual tradition on December 6-7 and 13-14. Meet the Belsnickel (a Pennsylvania Dutch figure who visits before St. Nicholas), enjoy a live nativity scene, sing carols in the one-room schoolhouse, and sip hot cocoa by the bonfire. It’s Christmas the way it was in the 1800s.
