ARREST: East Stroudsburg Woman Captured After Failing to Appear on Drug Charges

EAST STROUDSBURG, PA — Lucy Ann Morris, the 27-year-old East Stroudsburg woman wanted on a bench warrant since early November, is back in custody after Stroud Area Regional Police arrested her Friday morning.

Police took Morris into custody on November 21, 2025, at 6:00 a.m., ending a search that began when she failed to appear for a court hearing on drug-related charges.

The Original Arrest

The case began on July 10, 2025, when an officer spotted Morris standing outside the Walmart on Lincoln Avenue in East Stroudsburg around 11:00 p.m. A routine records check revealed she had two outstanding bench warrants—one in Monroe County and another in Northampton County.

When officers arrested her on those warrants and searched her belongings, they discovered narcotics and drug paraphernalia inside her purse. She was transported to Monroe County Correctional Facility on the existing warrants.

New Charges and Failure to Appear

Following the July arrest, prosecutors filed new charges against Morris:

  • Title 35 § 780-113(a)(16) – Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Title 35 § 780-113(a)(32) – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Morris was scheduled to appear in court but failed to show up, prompting authorities to issue a bench warrant on November 4, 2025. Police released a public notice asking for help locating her.

Back in Custody

Stroud Area Regional Police arrested Morris approximately two and a half weeks after the warrant was issued. Details about the circumstances of her arrest and whether she turned herself in were not immediately available.
