HAZLETON, PA — The Hazleton City Police Department has issued a public alert for the whereabouts of 41-year-old Jeremy Shafer, who is currently wanted under an active criminal warrant. The man is accused of evading arrest on foot, escape, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

The warrant was issued on October 11, 2024, and remains active.

Police are urging anyone who might know his location to contact 911 immediately or submit a tip through the CrimeWatch page affiliated with the department.

Why this matters
Evading arrest and escape charges indicate that law enforcement officials believe Shafer attempted to flee law enforcement in connection with an incident, a serious concern for public safety. The added accusations of reckless endangerment and drug paraphernalia emphasize the multifaceted nature of the alleged wrongdoing.

Authorities emphasize that individuals accused of crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
