New York Man Wanted on Felony Warrant for Credit Card Fraud at Stroudsburg Pool Store

STROUDSBURG, PA — Stroud Area Regional Police are seeking a 22-year-old New York man on felony charges after he and an accomplice allegedly used a fraudulent credit card to steal a $1,377.95 pool cleaner from Pocono Pool & Spa—then returned to the same store two weeks later to try again.

Magisterial District Judge Paul J. Gasper issued an arrest warrant November 25 for Kiond Jones of Shirley, New York, charging him with access device fraud, a third-degree felony, and theft by deception.

According to the criminal complaint filed by Officer Toby R. Sander, the Route 611 store reported on June 17 that a customer had called to purchase a pool cleaner over the phone. Two men arrived to pick up the item and the transaction processed—but a week later the charge failed.

On July 1, the same two men returned to the Stroudsburg location at 1507 N. 9th Street and attempted to make another purchase with the same credit card. When employees tried to identify them, they fled.

Police say the pair then drove approximately 15 miles north to the company’s second location at 6382 Route 191 in Cresco, within Barrett Township. Pocono Mountain Regional Police arrested them there and identified them as Jones and co-defendant Dilan Bryan.

A separate felony warrant has been issued for Bryan.

Pocono Pool & Spa, a family-owned business established in 1981, operates both retail locations in Monroe County.

Prior Case

Court records show Jones was arrested June 30, 2025, in the Barrett Township incident and faced 12 charges including felony access device fraud, conspiracy, possession of an instrument of crime, evidence tampering, marijuana possession, and carrying a false ID as a minor.

At an October 16 preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Daniel Kresge, Jones pleaded guilty to a single misdemeanor count of possessing a counterfeit access device. The remaining 11 charges were dismissed. He posted $5,000 bail.

The current warrant stems from the original June 17 theft at the Stroudsburg location—a separate case now moving forward.
