Sciota Man Facing Multiple Court Dates After Arrest on Outstanding Warrant

STROUDSBURG, PA – A 20-year-old Sciota man arrested earlier this month on an outstanding warrant is scheduled to appear in Monroe County court this week on retail theft and drug charges.

Jasire Dante McZeek is set for a preliminary arraignment Monday, November 25, at 10:00 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Kristina Anzini. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for December 4 at noon.

Upcoming Court Dates:

  • November 25, 2025, 10:00 a.m. – Preliminary Arraignment (Monroe County)
  • December 4, 2025, 12:00 p.m. – Preliminary Hearing (Monroe County)
  • December 12, 2025, 8:30 a.m. – Formal Arraignment (Lehigh County)

Arrested in Allentown, Transferred to Face Charges

McZeek was arrested by Allentown Police on November 15 and initially held at Lehigh County Jail. Monroe County prosecutors obtained a Writ of Habeas Corpus Ad Prosequendum on November 21, allowing them to bring McZeek back to face charges in Stroudsburg.

Judge Jonathan Mark granted the petition, and McZeek appeared before Judge Anzini later that day for an initial arraignment, which was continued to this Monday.

The Charges

McZeek faces three charges from a February 9, 2025 incident at the Acadia Shop on Main Street in Stroudsburg:

  • Retail theft (first-degree misdemeanor)
  • Use/possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor)
  • Purchase of alcohol by a minor (summary offense)

According to Stroud Area Regional Police, McZeek and another individual were accused of concealing merchandise from the store. Police said both suspects were found with stolen items and drug paraphernalia, and McZeek was also found with a bottle of vodka.

Why It Took Months

Court records show authorities had difficulty locating McZeek after charges were filed in April. Multiple summons attempts—both certified and first-class mail—were returned undeliverable between April and May.

A preliminary hearing scheduled for May 15 was cancelled when McZeek failed to appear, leading to the warrant that resulted in his arrest earlier this month.

Separate Lehigh County Case Pending

McZeek also faces charges in Lehigh County for an unrelated October 2024 theft by deception case in South Whitehall Township. He has a formal arraignment scheduled for December 12 before Judge Robert L. Steinberg, with bail set at $5,000 cash or surety.

McZeek remains in custody at Lehigh County Jail and has requested a public defender for the Monroe County case.

His next scheduled appearance in Monroe County is Monday morning at the office of Magisterial District Judge Kristina Anzini.
